"I wanted to put the scholarship fund in someone else's name and nobody else deserves that honor more than Phil Pitta" - Robert Arena
BBA strives to help children on and off the baseball field. We believe in more than just coaching the players; we believe in teaching values to the BBA children that will help them in their education as well as in their baseball game.
Many of these values were inspired on BBA co-founder Robert Arena by Phil Pitta. "He was my first coach," BBA co-founder Robert Arena explained, "He was always there for me. He taught me more than just baseball, he taught me about baseball and life. When I began to coach, I realized that I coach the way I coach because of him. He was a huge part of my life and I feel that a scholarship to help improve the lives of BBA children is something he would be proud of."
The Phil Pitta Scholarship Fund will be a beacon of BBA and an embodiment of what BBA stands for. The scholarship fund will help children in college and assist them in getting opportunities that may not of been available to them otherwise."I wanted to put the scholarship fund in someone else's name and nobody else deserves that honor more than Phil Pitta" claimed Robert Arena.
